Senior Systems Designer

Lightfox Games is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Senior Systems Designer to join our Seattle, Washington based team to work on an unannounced mobile game for a world-class IP and Publisher.

We are looking to build an organization of talented individuals operating in small teams with high levels of ownership.

This role is hybrid out of our downtown Seattle office, with approximately 50% of time expected in-person. When remote, we’re a quick-to-videocall, video-on studio to keep collaboration fast and effective.

Responsibilities

  • Design, document, and iterate on scalable meta systems including progression, economies, LiveOps frameworks, and monetization loops

  • Partner closely with Feature Teams, Product, and Leadership to align system design with business and player goals

  • Conceptualize, pitch, and iterate on system designs with the broader team, incorporating feedback from leadership, product, and data

  • Analyze live data and player behavior to tune systems post-launch

  • Own systems end-to-end, being hands-on in development from early concept through live operation

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional game development experience, including senior or lead ownership of systems on at least one shipped mobile free-to-play title

  • Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining complex economies or progression systems in a live environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly document and present systems

  • Highly self-motivated, collaborative, and comfortable working in small, fast-moving teams

Pluses

  • Experience designing systems for ARPG or 4X games

  • Experience modeling deep free-to-play economies

  • Experience designing or supporting social systems (guilds, co-op, competitive modes, or social progression)

  • Experience leveraging AI tools to help model or balance game systems or economies

  • Experience working in Unity

We’re building a culture that remembers why we’re in the games industry: we want to have fun and create compelling experiences for our players in a collaborative game development environment.

Compensation

Salary: $135,000 – $165,000 depending on experience, plus health/vision/dental coverage, 401(k) matching, commuting benefits, and equity.
